BIO

Shannon Chapman is a multifaceted neo-soul artist and producer making a unique impression on the Canadian music scene. Performance highlights in 2023 included full band concerts at the Dakota Tavern, BSMT254’s Next Wave Jazz Series, and the Markham Jazz Festival.

Her debut EP ‘Ebb & Flow’ (2020) and recent singles have drawn positive press and industry attention for her sophisticated approach to songwriting, arranging and production. A multi-instrumentalist, Shannon’s signature palette of sultry woodwinds, lush jazz harmony, smooth vocals, and laid-back grooves melt together to create a mellow and funky soundscape.

Unabashedly genuine, her style of storytelling is wistful and introspective. On ‘Ebb & Flow’, Shannon tastes the bitterness of bad habits and self-isolation. On her forthcoming EP ‘Playing Games’, a sweeter perspective emerges, embracing fresh starts, self-empowerment, and authenticity.

Shannon grew up in rural Manitoba, and is currently based in Toronto.
