BANDS & ENSEMBLES

SHANNON CHAPMAN
Shannon is the sole creator, producer, songwriter/composer, vocalist, keyboardist & woodwind player in her original neo-soul project. She is a rising force in the Canadian neo-soul scene, captivating audiences with her effortlessly smooth sound and deeply personal lyrics. An instrumentalist, vocalist, and producer, she brings her autonomous vision to all aspects of her practice, blending sultry woodwinds, lush jazz harmonies, and laid-back grooves to create a musical atmosphere that’s as introspective as it is funky.

Shannon’s artistry has garnered praise from both the press and industry tastemakers, landing her spots on high-profile Apple Music Editorial playlists like New in R&B, Smooth and Easy, and Grown N Sexy. Her sophisticated songwriting and production style have earned her a reputation for breezily combining meticulous musicianship with soulful and groovy style.

From intimate solo performances to full band shows, Shannon has graced notable stages such as the Markham Jazz Festival, the Next Wave Jazz Series, Sunset Sessions, and Fresh Up Festival, and presented tracks at The Listening Party Music Producer Showcase.

Her 2020 debut EP, Ebb & Flow, delved into themes of self-reflection, emotional struggle, and breaking bad habits. But with her recent 2024 release Playing Games, Shannon’s music shifts in a lighter, more empowered direction - celebrating new beginnings, authenticity, and embracing life on her own terms. In 2025, she is writing, producing, and filming her next project.

In addition to managing everything music-related, Shannon is also her own recording engineer, booking manager, promoter, release campaign manager, musical director, graphic artist, and merch designer/creator.

KATHERINE WILSON
In singer-songwriter Katherine Wilson’s original pop project, Shannon performs keyboard, backing vocals, and serves as the group’s Music Director, creating charts, lyric sheets, audio reference tracks, and facilitating rehearsals. Additionally, Shannon has co-written several songs with Katherine for this project.

PRETTY
A first-call sub for psychedelic rock band Pretty, Shannon holds it down on organ in this group.

THE WAY LIGHT
A new original project by songwriter-producer duo Katie DuTemple and John Kanakas made its debut in 2024, with Shannon providing backing vocals and keyboard at their band launch in July and their album release show in November.

MEGA CITY SWING BAND
Shannon held the first tenor chair in the Megacity Swing Band, a Toronto community pro/am big band, between 2015 and 2021. Under the direction of music educator and composer/arranger Gary Martin, Shannon was an active soloist in the ensemble.
